Thayne, Wyoming is the very first place that cutter races were held. It is now home of the "ALL AMERICAN CUTTER RACES."
BUTCH CASSIDY and his gang wintered at the Davis Ranch near Auburn. The large snowfalls made the Davis Ranch a safe place to "hole up." Butch Cassidy was eventually captured in April of 1892 and served about a year and a half in prison for horse theft. Visit Star Valley Wyoming for more history on Butch Cassidy.
Thayne is home for the CHEESE FACTORY. Public tours are offered as well as free samples.
Thayne is home of the Star Valley Ranch Resort. Country ranches are available for those who enjoy the country. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding, hiking and many other relaxing opportunities can be found by visiting one of these ranches.
