Mountain Days 2001
Held every year on Father's Day Weekend near Alpine, Wyoming

"Singing for America"

A Special Family Performance by
The Morning Star Musicians and
flag ceremony conducted by
Alpine's local cub pack
at the end of the first day
got the crowd in a patriotic mood.

Volunteers in the Children's Village and Arcade area in the Town Park prepare prizes for the winners of the various contests getting ready to take place there on Saturday.

If you misbehave, prepare yourself for a tour of the jail. Hopefully your friends will be kind enough to bail you out!

The kids arrive at the Children's Village with their friends and families from the Pioneer Village by hay wagon.

Sadly, we don't have any pictures of an event that has grown rapidly
in size and popularity in the last few years--the Pony Express Poker Run.
Nearly 70 riders participated, making this year's the largest run to date.
The riders are encouraged to dress in 1800's clothing & win prizes
for the best outfits.

Competitions of all sorts take place during Mountain Days, including "Hawk and Knife Throws"--Amateur and Championship Contests, Three D Archery Shoots, Pro & Amateur Black Powder Shoots, horseshoe pitching, and beard & moustache contests. Some are more serious than others....
