This will
be Alpine Wyoming’s Mountain Days’ FOURTH ANNUAL CHILI
COOK-OFF. Come join in the fun either as a participant
or to taste the goods and submit your vote for the best
chili. No categories this year—anything goes as long as
it tastes like CHILI.
1) Entrants will be required to register, as an individual
or team of no more than 4. THERE ARE NO ENTRY FEES
THIS YEAR. ENTRIES WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST
TWELVE RECEIVED. And please bring your own
table! 2) Chili must be cooked on site from
scratch. 3) No ingredients may be precooked before the
competition begins. 4) Canned or bottled tomatoes,
tomato sauce, peppers, pepper sauces, spices and broths
are allowed but must be opened on site. 5) Each contestant or team will be
required to cook a minimum of 3 gallons of chili
in as sanitary a manner as possible. 6) The only cooking method
allowed is by portable propane stove since electricity
is not easily available. 7) Chili cookers can
start at 7:00 a.m. Chili must be ready for
judging by NOON. The public will vote for the
People’s Choice by buying “tasting spoons.” (This is why
you need 3 gallons so you don't run out!) Fire
Department judges will
also taste and judge where your chili might
earn you extra points. 8)
Contestants must clean up their site at the end of the
competition & leave it as found.
NO
ENTRANCE FEES THIS YEAR! Just cook up your best batch of
chili and win a prize! Or join us as a taster. Don't
forget--this is a fundraiser for the Fire Department who
will be selling spoons for the tasting. And also don't
forget the main thing--HAVE FUN!!!
