Welcome to "Star Valley Wyoming Online." Thanks for allowing us
to bring a small part of our valley into your home. We invite
you to take an electronic tour of our mountain valley, hoping
you will soon come to visit us in person-- for a day, a vacation
or a lifetime.
Star Valley Wyoming is located in north Lincoln County. It includes the communities of Afton, Thayne, Alpine, Star Valley Ranch, Freedom, Etna, Grover, Bedford, Smoot, Fairview, Osmond, Auburn & Turnerville, Wyoming. Star Valley is surrounded by three National Forests, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Targhee National Forest and the Caribou National Forest. The Snake River, Salt River and the Greys River meet near Alpine to form the Palisades Reservoir. You will find us located on U.S. Highway 89 along the Idaho border and 35 miles south of Jackson, Wyoming, and within 100 miles of Teton & Yellowstone National Parks. We sincerely believe Star Valley is one of our country's most beautiful treasures. In addition to being historically and culturally rich, Star Valley boasts an abundance of wildlife, outdoor recreational opportunities, and spectacular scenery. Intermittent Spring near Afton is the largest of only three cold water geysers in the world. We invite you to join us on a virtual tour of our area and communities--then come see us in person!
